Record ice on power lines, – energy ministry

The record icing on the wires of power lines leads to serious problems with power supply, the energy ministry reports.
The most difficult situation is in Kirovohrad region, where 2 500 people in 30 settlements remain without electricity.
The ice on the wires has a diameter of 60-89 mm. Such sizes of ice have not been recorded in the entire history of observations since 1945.
The ministry also reported outages in 44 towns and villages due to the bad weather conditions.
