Russians shot Ukrainian prisoners of war in Zaporizhzhia region

The prosecutor’s office initiated an investigation into the killing of Ukrainian prisoners of war by the Russians in Zaporizhzhia region.According to the investigation, the war crime took place in the area of Robotyne village.

The Prosecutor General office noted that the event happened in December 2023, when Russians captured three Ukrainian soldiers during hostilities.

Then, in violation of Article 3 of the Geneva Convention, which regulates the treatment of prisoners of war, the invaders shot the prisoners.

A video recording of the incident was posted and widely spread on the Internet.

The prosecutor’s office opened criminal proceedings for violation of the laws and customs of war, related to intentional murder.
