The National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor office, and the Security Service declared suspicion to four-term member of parliament Serhii Pashynskyi. Currently, he heads the National Association of Defense Industry Enterprises.

Pashynskyi and his business partner are suspected of the illegal appropriation of oil products and the losses to the state of almost UAH 1 billion.

According to the investigation, they are suspected of illegally misappropriating and selling 97,000 tons of oil products confiscated by the state.

These petroleum products were to be used for the needs of the Armed Forces. According to the results of the state audit, this scheme was implemented during 2014-2017.

‘As the investigation established, with the help of the political lobby of the former MP, these oil products were transferred for sale to a specialized state enterprise in order to fill the state budget. At that time, this state-owned enterprise was headed by executives who were under the control of the business partner of the ex-deputy,’ the SBU statement says.

According to the investigation, the former member of parliament provided political cover for the illegal actions, using his influence and administrative resources in relation to state enterprises, judicial and law enforcement agencies that participated in the confiscation of these oil products.

Earlier, Pashynskyi told about searches at his place of living.
