Ukraine and USA strengthening cooperation in control over the use of international aid

Representatives of Ukraine and the USA signed a memorandum, the purpose of which is to strengthen cooperation in the field of control over the use of international aid.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov met with the Inspector General of the US Department of Defense Robert Storch in Kyiv.
During the meeting, the minister informed the American side about the ongoing institutional transformations in the ministry. In particular, regarding the introduction of an effective system of supervision, risk management, compliance, prevention of corruption in the field of procurement, as well as the introduction of democratic control tools in the field of defense.
‘By the end of April, we will have 100% confidence that all oversight mechanisms will be implemented and the system will work,’ Umerov stated.
He also emphasized that strengthening control and transparency in the use of security assistance provided to Ukraine by partners is one of the priorities in the work of the ministry.
Earlier, Ukraine’s defense ministry reported about implementation of 18 NATO standards during the month.
