In a welcome update, Ukraine’s state grid operator, Ukrenergo said on Monday that there will be no rolling blackouts on Tuesday.

Although the company said that energy consumption restrictions will be scrapped for the day, it urged consumers to use energy-efficient appliances during peak hours, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The easing of power supply restrictions comes as a relief amid improved electricity supply conditions, with the “toughest part of the summer now seemingly behind us,’  according to Vladimir Kudrytsky, Ukrenergo’s CEO.

In July, deputy energy minister Mykola Kolisnyk revealed that Ukraine was negotiating with European transmission system operators to boost power imports by up to 2.2 GW, aiming to tackle the energy deficit.
