The situation with electricity in Ukraine will not improve for the next six to eight weeks, and problems with shortages will be felt. Significant fluctuations during one day will occur due to the dependence of the energy system on solar and wind generation.

In total, as a result of the last seven Russian attacks on energy facilities, Ukraine lost about 9 gigawatts of generating capacity.

‘We are critically short of domestic electricity generation due to the Russians. It is so critical that even maximum imports do not solve this problem,’ Kovalenko stated.

As of now, the planned repair works at nuclear power plants continues. Due to this, some energy units do not work. It was previously stated that it is impossible to postpone these planned works.
