Ukraine’s parliament sends justice minister Maliuska packing

The Verkhovna Rada has approved the resignation of justice minister Denys Maliuska, with 249 deputies voting in favor of the decision.
The report of the exiting minister received applause, as he was one of the few ministers who showed up in person to submit his resignation. The only other minister to report was Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Minister of Strategic Industries.
Today’s exit of several key ministers is seen as part of the govermental reshuffle althought the Vekrhovna Rada proved hesitant about resignation of foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba. The lawmakers postoponed their vote on his future.
By contrast, the dismissal of deputy prime minister Olha Stefanishyna and enviromental minister Ruslan Strilets was quick and smooth, their resignations were supported by the majority of votes.
