Ukrainian scholar targeted in assassination attempt in Lviv

The acclaimed Ukrainian scholar and activist Iryna Farion was rushed to the hospital after she was shot in an attempted assassination in Lviv on Friday. The shocking news was reported by Espreso TV journalist Marta Oliiarnyk.
The shooting took place at 3 Masaryk Street, where the gunman shot the professor in the head. According to witness accounts, the man was wearing gloves and used a gun without a silencer.
The attacker had allegedly waited for her for a long time.
Iryna Farion is now in critical condition, according to another local journalist, Andriy Drozda.
