Ukrainian security forces detained a Russian spy in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The suspect, a 30-year-old local, agreed to help pinpoint Russian attacks in the region after his pro-Russian comments in messaging apps caught the eye of a Russian intelligence officer.

After the man said yes to their offer,  the informant started scounting the areas near Ukrainian troop positions gathering and sending their coordinates to his Russian handlers.

During a search, investigators seized the mobile device he used to communicate with Russian intelligence operative. The suspect is facing espionage charges under Article 114-2 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.  If convicted, he faces up to eight years in prison.
