On Tuesday Ukrhydroenergo has revealed it will hold off on filing a lawsuit against Russia for damages caused by the Kakhovka Dam explosion. The state-run company that overlooks Ukraine’s water resources recently pulled the plug on a tender for legal representation in international arbitration, originally set at 365 million hryvnias.

It said it wants any litigation on the issue to align with Ukraine’s national strategy that aims to hold Russia accountable for the destruction inflicted on critical infrastructure and make it cover  these losses.

Ukrhydroenergo made it clear its future legal case will take in the Kakhovka Dam destruction and the damage its facilities suffered from and over 140 Russian missile strikes.
