On February 7, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the government draft law on strengthening mobilization in the first reading.

243 members of parliament voted for the draft law in the first reading.

Amendments to the draft law can be made within 14 days, until February 21. Then the second voting will take place.

MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak said that the law can be adopted in the end of February, signed by president Zelensky in the beginning of March and come in force in April.

Earlier, MP Siumar warned about corruption risks of this draft law.

The former president of Ukraine and leader of the ‘European Solidarity’ party Petro Poroshenko stated that president Zelensky should have submitted such an important law.
