In an interview to BBC, Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence, commented on downing a Tu-22 Russian strategic bomber.
He said that the operation had been prepared for a long time. The aircraft was shot down at the distance of 308 km.
According to Budanov, the bomber was destroyed with the same weapons as the A-50 long-range radar aircraft.
He added that this was the first time in this war that Russia lost a strategic bomber.
Budanov also hopes that Russian strikes on Odesa will become less intensive because the invaders will be afraid to lose other strategic bombers.
