Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko reported that more than 2 GW of power system capacity has been restored as of today. This is about the facilities that were significantly damaged by Russian strikes last winter.
According to him, in 2024, Ukraine will not only restore, but also increase generation capacity.
The minister reminded that about 50% of the objects of the Ukrainian energy system were damaged or occupied by Russia.
He also noted that in 2024, important tools for increasing generation capacity will be decentralization, increasing the share of gas turbine and gas piston installations, solar and wind generation.
Earlier, Ukrenergo informed about an increase in the consumption of electricity in Ukraine.
